An unsolicited eulogy

Dear bag
In this world where everyone just shrugged off their shoulder from my problems, thank you for carrying my heaviest pieces of baggage, wherever I went. Your subtle hug meant a lot when I paved my way through the crowded stations and markets. Thank you for keeping away all the bad touches. When I had no acquaintance on my journey, you spent every minuscule second in my lap. I was never truly alone on any voyage. I never thanked you enough for it.
In the heaviest rains, I used you to cover my head. Thanks for not denying any help that I asked for.

Thanks for being my accomplice and hiding all the souvenirs from my first love. Remember that handkerchief from my teenage crush? You gobbled it in your secret pocket and saved me from getting caught. I never thanked you enough for it.

Throughout my life’s minuscule and major exams, you never left my side. Remember I threw you on the floor on the day of my first heartbreak? I never apologized enough for it.

I tried replacing you with many other colorful and quirky bags. Their friendship was like a bubble. I liked flaunting them on my good days like picnics, fests, and outings but they were too feeble to stay in tough times as you did. I think I never thanked you enough for it.

Now that you have stopped breathing and mum has asked me to hand you over to the rag picker, my eulogy makes no sense.
