Beat the summer heat!

Mid-June heat has surreptitiously invaded merry march too soon. Here are the days when a throng of people welcomes you in fully air-conditioned metros, leaving you to gasp for your breath or when you bathe in sweat just after your morning bath. Here are the days of embracing hill stations as you burn your buttocks, plonking on the car seat.

However, the summer season is not a total devil. These are the days when you can enjoy some of the luscious drinks and ice cream flavors. It is the flagship season for Aamras, mangoes, Bel Patra sherbet, sugarcane juice, and many other smorgasbords of delicacies. It is the season of being all ears to grandmother’s bedtime stories with your cousins.

To keep the vivacity of the summer season intact in you, here are a few Gapshap tips!

1.     Replace fridge water fetish with Earthen pot

Our social studies books adduced the age-old practice of people keeping earthen pots during the summer season to keep water cold. However, nowadays people undermine its benefits. Keeping water in earthen pots has therapeutic benefits. Unlike a refrigerator, these pots cool the water up to the most optimum level required to quench the thirst.

Last summer, I was aversive to have a traditional ‘Ghada’ as my fridge stood in pride to provide the best temperature of the water. Upon my mother’s persistence, we bought his competitor. With due regards to technology, to date, I haven’t felt the need to apologize to my fridge for choosing ‘earthen pot’ over him.

Some mind-boggling benefits of using earthen pots are:

  • Prevents gastric problems: As the clay is basic in nature, it neutralizes the toxins and harmful acids inside our body, maintaining the pH level of our body.
  • The subtlety of temperature: Pot water is very gentle on the throat, unlike refrigerator water which can cause cold and cough and is harsh on the throat.
  • Freedom from the tension of refilling water bottles: Our age-old habit of forgetting to keep bottles in the fridge is kept at bay if we use an earthen pot. It keeps the water at the perfect temperature at all times.

2.     Keep indoors cool

Scorching heatwaves can have a ravaging effect on your health. Curtains prevent these incoming sun rays from overheating the home to an extent. However to keep the indoors cool you can:

  1. Use green shade net: Prevention of harmful sun rays will be better with agro shade nets. These nets are usually used on the extremities of the house i.e on balconies or boundaries. Such nets are used in nurseries to protect the saplings from extreme weather conditions.
  2. Switch to bamboo chick binds: Easy to roll up and fold, bamboo chicks serve multiple purposes. They are used to protect against loo, dust, cold winds, rain, etc.
  3. Change your sleeping styles: Switching to low heightened mattresses will add to comfort as air is cooler near the ground. You can make comfy arrangements using your mattresses to set up a sleeping corner on the floor.

3. Keep yourself hydrated

Solely depending on water to keep yourself hydrated can be both monotonous and conventional. Complimenting your day with easy-to-make drinks will maintain the glow and charm of your body even during harsh summers. Internet is flooded with such recipes. Make your lazy afternoons exhilarating with Bael juice (Bel Patra sherbet), sugarcane juice, or even an easy drink like Ruhawza! Avoid caffeine or food items that are heavy on your digestive system.

Bael juice is an excellent summer drink and is considered good for the heart and gut.

4.     Adopt a workout regime

Hot weather adds to a lot of uneasiness. Releasing the toxins in the form of sweat is very important. Add a routine morning/evening workout session to your daily schedule. This will also have a positive impact on your diet. Proper eating habits and routine workouts keep indigestion problems at bay.

5.     Switch to cooler fabrics

Cotton and linen are the best fabrics to beat the heat. They are breathable fabrics and soak up the sweat. Your summer wardrobe must include fabrics that do not stick to the body and do not cause rashes. The third most popular fabric choice of people during summers is Rayon. With great durability, rayon clothes are perfect for sportswear. However, rayon clothes can shrink during washing.

These were some ways to beat the heat. Share your tips in the comment section.

HAPPY SUMMERS!

You can definitely see your enthusiasm within the work you write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers such as you who are not afraid to mention how they believe. Always follow your heart. “Every man serves a useful purpose A miser, for example, makes a wonderful ancestor.” by Laurence J. Peter.

My developer is trying to convince me to move to .net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using WordPress on various websites for about a year and am anxious about switching to another platform. I have heard great things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can import all my wordpress posts into it? Any help would be really appreciated!
